The VP Debate
This was going to be a comment on Dragaroo’s site, but livejournal stopped responding :(
Tina Fey is hot. lol. Really though, I enjoy her on 30 rock.
"...but the fact that she couldn't distance the issue from her own personal views has very troubling implications."
How uh... what? How does one distance an issue from one's personal views on said issue? -- any issue
I have a rather strong dislike for both candidates this time around, and only watched the first 30 minutes or so of the debate. A couple of things struck me...
These "debates" hardly seem like actual debates. Almost every question turns into, "regurgitate already stated policy, make a jab at something in the opponents past". It's like a live campaign commercial with the bloopers not edited out.
I want to rip my own genitals off when either side starts talking about the economy. The president -- the government in general -- was never meant to be "in charge" of it. Certain oversights are needed. Minimum wage, worker safety, abusive monopolistic practices... It seems to be that both sides just want to buy votes by saying, "we'll give you this". When really *this* should never have been in the governments hands in the first place.
Long story short. I agree with *almost* everything Ron Paul says. (Yes I know it's a wiki -_-)
In conclusion, I will probably extremely begrudgingly vote for McCain. Although I believe we would look better internationally if Obama was elected. It would also be nice to have "the other side" have a chance. That said they have had control of congress for awhile now and haven't done much :/
If I was rich I’d give money to Paul.
